Charles F. Kane passes away in Flint on Monday
Former resident brought here for funeral services and burial

Charles F. Kane, a former well known resident of this city, passed away at his residence in Flint, at 5:30 Monday evening, following four years of ill health.

Charles Francis Kane was born the son of Albert J. and Mattie E. Kane in Saginaw, Michigan, August 13, 1945, at age of sixty-three years, eleven months and five days.

His parents brought him to Clare in the year of 1883, when he was but an infant, and he attended the Clare Public Schools as a boy and grew into manhood here.

He was employed and in business in Clare until going to Flint in 1908, where he was employed by the Buick Motor Company for about twenty-five years. He was associated with the United States Employment Service for a number of years until he became ill and retired.

Mr. Kane was united in marriage to Miss Elnora K. Sears, in Genesee Co., Michigan August 27, 1912, and this union was blessed by the birth of three sons, Sears F., Charles A. and John E.; Sears passing away at the age of five years.

Mr. Kane attended the Congregational Church in Clare, while residing in this city, and was keenly interested in State and community politics and civic affairs. His many friends here will be saddened to learn of his demise.

He leaves to mourn their loss, the bereaved wife, two sons, Charles A. of Akron, Ohio and John E., who made his home with his father in Flint; a brother, Floyd D. Kane, of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. Ada M. Streit, of Mt. Clemens; other relatives and a host of friends.

His father passed away in Clare in 1920 and his mother passed away here in 1942.

Funeral services were held from the Doherty Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Charles B. Hahn officiating, and interment in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
