Martinez, GA – Mr. Cephas J. Barwick, 92, husband of Mary Lee Meyer Barwick of Plantation Road, entered into rest Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Albert Stroup and Reverend David Stockton officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Barwick, son of the late Morris and Sarah Flanders Barwick, was born in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was a member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church and retired from civil service at Fort Gordon. He served with the Army Air Corp and was a veteran of World War II.

Additional survivors include sons, David and his wife, Debbie Barwick of Suannee, GA, Thomas B. and his wife, Judy Carreras of Palm Beach, FL, Louis M. and his wife, Barbara Carreras of Augusta; daughters, Gloria Lee Lopinto of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Jean Marie and her husband, Dennis Turner of Evans; brother, Charles Edward Barwick of Macon; sisters, Almeda Shunk of Atlanta, Martha Blizzard, of Adrian, GA, and Lois Fizer of Lincolnton, GA; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
