Violet Elizabeth Durley Danner was born to Dr. William Hardy (some say Henry) Durley and Elizabeth M., "Bettie" Ing Durley both of Gibson Co., Tennessee. Violet was named "Violet" after her paternal grandmother, Violet Armfield Ing, and her mother Elizabeth.

"Vi" was the wife of A.B. (Aylmer Bright) Danner, and they were the parents of 5 children, namely: Elizabeth Boyd, "Bubba", Danner-Ibbotson (1901-1992), Gladys Marie, "Tiree", Danner-Agar (1902-1992), Margaret Susan, "Tady", Danner-Brichler (1905-1992), William Harold, "Jack", Danner (1908-1950), and Thomas Gilchrist, "Gil", Danner (1912-1977).

"Vi" as she was called, died at her daughter's house, Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd Danner-Ibbotson in Detroit Michigan.
