Mr. Harlan K. Herman, age 88, of Mena, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 in Mena.
He was born March 12, 1922 in Lincoln, Kansas to the late Harley Edward Herman and the late Stella G. Krechlow Herman. He was united in marriage to the late Marion Jean Harden on August 16, 1943 in Papallion, Nebraska. He was a retired veteran, serving his country in the United States Army and in the United States Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by:

Daughter: Sharon Kay Johnson and husband Jerry of Mena, Arkansas

Grandson: Jeff Johnson and wife Dena of Mena, Arkansas

Granddaughters: Kim Bryan and husband Roger of Mena, Arkansas Jodie Hunt and husband Donny of Mena, Arkansas

10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Stella Herman and by his wife Marion Herman.

Graveside service will be held Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother Chad Hill officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening, August 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
