Helen M. Emerson, 89, formerly of 275 Audubon Place, Macon, GA, died Friday in Marietta, GA.
Mrs. Emerson, wife of sixty years to the late James Russell Emerson, was born in Davisboro, Georgia, the daughter of the late Stephen H. and Rosa (Walker) Amerson.
She had lived in Macon for sixty-five years before moving to Marietta.
Mrs. Emerson was a homemaker and had worked as secretary at Georgia Loan and Trust Company and at Tattnall Square Baptist Church where she was also a lifelong member.
Mrs. Emerson was a member of the Federated Garden Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty E. (Lloyd) Biddle of Canton; a brother, Dr. George T. Amerson, Clarksville, AR; a sister, Reba A. Lanier of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. The Rev. Andy Oxford will officiate.
The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time and asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Tattnall Square Baptist Church, 4925 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210 or to Alzheimer's Association, Central Georgia Chapter, Suite 201, 277 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Macon, GA 31201.
Snow's Memorial Chapel Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
