James L. Stuby, 92, of R.D. 1, Punxsutawney, Pa., died in Mulberry Square Elder Care.
Mr. Stuby was a son of the late George Stuby and Madge (Flanagan). He was a member of the Marchand United Methodist Church and the Pennsylvania Farmers Association, and he was a former member and Sunday School superintendent of the Mount Union United Methodist Church of Alverda, Pa. Mr. Stuby was a dairyman all of his life and retired from the dairy business in 1976 and continued to farm until 1997.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married June 24, 1936; four sons and a daughter; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother: Lula Joiner, Jesse Joiner, Margaret Wilson, Marie Williams, and Russell Stuby.
Friends were received in the Deeley Funeral Home, Inc., 113 South Gilpin St., Punxsutawney, Pa. A funeral service was held August 13, 2001 in the Marchand United Methodist Church, Marchand, Pa., with the Rev. Robert Nagy officiating.
The family suggested memorial contributions in memory of James L. Stuby be made to the Marchand United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
