Violet V. Malicoat, 90, passed away from natural causes on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at Libby Care Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1919 at Bonners Ferry, Idaho to John and Julia (Owen) Edwards. She grew up and attended school in Bonners Ferry. Over the years, Violet lived in Columbia Falls, Libby, Washington state and California.
She worked as a waitress in a number of restaurants in the Libby area. She worked for 14 years at St. John's Lutheran Hospital as a cook. After her retirement in 1975, Violet worked part-time at the Evergreen Motel.
She enjoyed painting, crocheting, quilting and was an excellent seamstress. Violet was very devoted to her family and loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri Wilson; husband, Ron Malicoat of Billings; grandchildren, Jeff Olson (Joni) of Columbia Falls; Alan Olson of Auburn, Wash.; Tracy Olson (Gena) of Missoula; Brenda Scherer (Tod) of Billings; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. at the City of Libby cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home, 422 W. Second St., Libby.
