Husband of Emily V. Powers who resided in Muskegee, Oklahoma. It is unsure if Emily was his first wife or second. ( see his enlistment below ).

"Eugene" served as a Sergeant & Tail Gunner on B-29 "Devil May Care" #42-24452, 45th Bomber Squadron, 40th Bomber Group, Very Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Muskegee County, Oklahoma prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 17, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in construction and also as Divorced, without dependents.

B-29 #42-24452 took off, with a crew of 11, from Chakulia, India with 60 other B-29's on a bombing mission to attack rail yards in Bangkok, Thailand.

They were believed to have been shot down by Japanese aircraft. B-29 #42-24452 was the only B-29 lost on this mission.

"Eugene" was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
