Missing in Action - Sam Manfredi's B-24 was attacked by Japanese fighters at Palau Island on a bombing mission. Only five members of the crew escaped the plane.
Sam served as a Staff Sergeant & Tail Gunner on B-24J #44-40611, 371st Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force that crashed in the sea during WW II.
