B-25H #43-4915 took off, after World War II was over with a crew of 3 and 5 passengers, from Townsville, Queensland Australia on an administrative mission to Biak Island, Papua Province, Indonesia. They never reached their destination.
B-25H #43-4915 was not found until the mid 1990's and they had crashed near Timkua, Dutch New Guinea, Indonesia.
Veachel was first declared "Missing" and his status was later changed to "Killed in the "Line Of Duty" once his remains were recovered.
