Husband of Virginia Braley who resided in Sunset Beach, California.

Scott served as a Sergeant & Crew Chief on C-46D #42-101157, 5th Squadron, 2nd Combat Cargo Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Orange County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 15, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Married.

C-46D #42-101157, while cleared to takeoff and while attempting to takeoff from Tacloban, Leyte Island, Philippines, was directed to clear the runway immediately.

A C-54, without the knowledge of the radio tower, was attempting to land on the same runway. C-46D #42-101157, while attempting to avoid a collision, veered off and ended up hitting two B-24's and another C-46 causing the entire crew to be killed in this crash.

Scott was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
