Son of Robert S. Buchanan who resided in Rochester, New York.

Ronald served as a Sergeant and Radio Operator in the 69th Squadron, 433rd Troop Carrier Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 154 Salina Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 7, 1943 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Stock clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Ronald died when a plane, in which he was riding, crashed in Luzon. He was recorded as dying of a "Line Of Duty" related incident during the war.

He was awarded an Air Medal.
