Birth: Jan. 11, 1862
Death: Mar. 8, 1897
Menard County
Illinois, USA

Wife of Anthony M. Prewitt. According to information supplied by Danny Robison, Anthony died on January 21, 1935, in California. His burial location has not been disclosed to this contributor, yet. Evidently Anthony was married several times. If his burial location is found and a memorial made then his personal information can thus be presented and links made.

A son of theirs was Paul P Prewitt .

A burial permit for Ida provided the death date and location information. Fulton & Baker Undertakers handled the transportation of the body back to Fairfield for burial.

Daughter-in-law of Nancy C Rutledge Prewitt , who was a sister of Ann Rutledge (who was fabled to be Abraham Lincoln's first love).

Ida and Nancy are buried in this same plot and share the headstone inscription side. Where their respective husbands are buried at is not known to this contributor at this time. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Death of Mrs. Prewitt.

A telegram was received in this city yesterday announcing the death at Loyd, Ill., Monday night of Ida M. DeMarsh, wife of Rev. A. M. Prewitt. Mrs. Prewitt had been ill with typhoid pneumonia for some time past, but it was supposed by friends here that she was convalescent and out of danger. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. De Marsh of this city, and was born and grew to womanhood in this county. Her education was received in this city, where she was a student at Parson College for several years and graduated with the class of '83. Mr. and Mrs. Prewitt were married about ten years ago and have three children. Mrs. Prewitt was a woman of most estimable character, and was loved by all who came in contact with her. The announcement of her death will bring sorrow to many friends in this community. The remains were brought to this city for interment last night, and will be interred at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
