The Citadel Class of 1940, took post graduate courses at The University of the South. 1st Lieutenant, US Army Air Corps; B-17 pilot with the 427th Bomb Squadron of the 303d Bomb Group based at RAF Molesworth, England. Shot down on 28th mission over Germany, recipient of 4 Air Medals and the Purple Heart.
