Son of Elton and Bessie (Poole) Aldrich.

George served as a Private First Class, 138th Engineer Combat Battalion, 1147th Engineer Combat Group, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

George died in the "Line Of Duty" as a result of a non-battle related incident during the war.

The 138th Engineer Combat Battalion was part of the 1147th Engineer Combat Group. The last week of June 1945, the 138th was in the area of Geissen, Germany, 37 miles due north of Frankfurt.

George apparently died from some illness or accident on 1 July 1945 some 53 days after the end of hostilities on VE Day, May 8, 1945.
