Marcell Kieser War Victim Parents Hear
Pfc. Marcell U. Kieser, 19, son of Albert and Frances Rosengarten Kieser of Columbus, both formerly of this community, lost his life in the English channel January 15 when a troop ship was destroyed and sunk by enemy action according to the message from the War Department received by his parents at Columbus. He was a member of the 262nd Infantry Division.
Requiem High Mass will be sung next Wednesday morning in St. Leo's church at Columbus in memory of the soldier, who was an only son, and who left his studies at Capital University, Columbus, to enter the Army in February, 1944, less than a year before he was reported missing.
News of the reported death of the soldier was received by Mrs. Fred Wehrman living west of Minster, who is a sister to Mrs. Kieser.
