CHURCH HILL-Howard Edward Gray, age 66, of Route 2 Church Hill, died Monday at 10 a.m. at his home following an apparent heart attack.
He was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and a member of the McPheeters Bend Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Broad Street Furniture Co., Kingsport.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie Mae (Long) Gray of Church Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Louise) Marsh and Mrs. Charles (Marie) Carey both of Church Hill; two sons, John Thomas and Samuel Eugene Gray, both of Church Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Mttie Horton, Mrs. Nancy Hicks, and Mrs. Edna Taylor, all of Church Hill, and Mrs. Beulah Berrigan, Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Elbert Gray, Kingsport, and Eckel Gray, Kingston, Tn.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at the McPheeters Bend Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Hobbs and rev. Pat Hammonds officiating.
Burial will follow in the McPheeters Bend Church Cemetery
