WILLIAM JACKSON SHOEMAKER
William Jackson Shoemaker, 74, retired farmer from Willow Springs community, died this morning at Burge hospital of a heart ailment. Previously he had been bedridden with the ailment at the home of his son, L. B. Shoemaker, 1140 East National, where he had lived the past year.
Surviving Mr. Shoemaker besides his wife are four sons, L.B., at whose home he died, A.W. and H.C., Santa Monica, Cal., and R.L., San Bruno, Cal.; and three brothers, K.H., Loyal, Ky., H.B. and John, Verda, Ky.
His youngest son, Claude Dean Shoemaker, Marine, was killed in September, 1942, in the first battle of Guadalcanal.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Alma Lohmeyer.

Funeral services for William Jackson Shoemaker, 74, retired Willow Springs farmer who died yesterday morning at Burge hospital after a several months illness at the home of his son, 1140 East National, will be at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in Alma Lohmeyer chapel with the Rev. William E. Howard officiating and burial in Hazelwood.
Please note: National avenue is a North/South street. So it couldn't be "East National". The address was most likely, "North" National.
