Everet served as a 2nd Lieutenant and Bombardier on B-17 "The Sky Wolf II" #42-29574, 327th Bomber Squadron, 92nd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

During this mission Everet was flying with the 91st Bomber Group instead of the 92nd.

He resided in Colorado prior to the war.

Everet was "Killed In Action", along with four other members of his crew, when his plane was shot down while on a mission to Schweinfurt, Germany to bomb a Ball Bearing Plant. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

The 91st Bomber Group lost 11 B-17's on this mission.
