From the Rutland Daily Herald, Rutland, Vermont, Oct. 12, 1918:
Louis Belifore of 276 West street yesterday received from the war department at Washington a telegram informing him that his brother, Private Nicholas Belifore, was reported as having been killed in action on September 23.
The young soldier was born in Naples, Italy, about 24 years ago and came to this country a few years later. He lived in Rutland for a number of years and was employed in the foundry of the Howe Scale company five or six years. Private Belifore went into the service about a year ago last month and was stationed at Camp Devens, Ayer, Mass., until last April. He then went overseas as a member of an infantry company.
Private Belifore is survived by his parents and a sister, who live in Naples, besides his brother of the city.
