Paul served as a Second Lieutenant & Pilot on B-17F #42-5886, 548th Bomber Squadron, 385th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Essex County, New Jersey prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps as a Aviation Cadet on January 14, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Insurance Salesmen and also as Single, without dependents.

Paul was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was attacked by enemy aircraft and crash landed a mile from Woensdrecht Air Field, on the Holland & Belgium border during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
