Victor served as a Second Lieutenant & Co-Pilot on B-17 "Holy Mackeral" (#42-3265), 337th Bomber Squadron, 96th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Nebraska prior to the war.

Victor was "Killed In Action" when his B-17, while returning from a bombing mission to Bremen, Germany, was hit by enemy flak which caused explosions on his plane and he and the pilot lost all control due to the damage.

The "Holy Mackeral" ended up running into B-17 (#42-30860) causing them to crash into the Wadden Sea (North Sea). The "Holy Mackeral" also ended up in a crash landing at Kimewerd, South of Harlingen, Holland.

Victor was awarded the Purple Heart.
