and flew position 1-3 in 2nd Squadron and carried twelve 500 lb bombs but these were not dropped. It ran out of fuel and crashed and burned with wheels up in the Olde Woode at Corfe Castle near the English south coast killing all 9 on board.There were no airfields in the area.
