John served as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot on B-24J Liberator (#42-73046), U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in New Haven County, Connecticut prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 17, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was noted as being employed in the fabrication of textile products and also as Single, without dependents.

John died in the "Line Of Duty", along with ten other airmen, when his B-24 crashed at Station 512/RAF St. Mawgan, Cornwall, England during the war.
