Born in Muskegon, Mich., Jeanette was retired from the City of Norfolk having worked with the Bureau of Parks and Recreation at Forest Lawn Cemetery. She was a longstanding member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Ocean View Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3160, and Zulekia Court No. 35 Ladies of the Shrine.
Jeanette was the widow of Grover C. Bowen and is survived by two daughters, Darlene Woolery of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Linda Lee of Norfolk; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Slack, Adam Lee, Danelle Howard and Christopher Woolery.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Johns Lutheran Church with Keith Olivier officiating. Burial will be private.
