Pete was quicker than most at answering the call of the country he so dearly loved, joining the United States Air Force at age 16. He was always proud to be an American and proud of his service.
Pete had a real and genuine love of southern Utah and the Paragonah area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing things and tooling around in his shed. He was always very proud of his property and kept an immaculate lawn and garden area.
Pete was truly the life of the party and could spend hours on end sharing his many colorful stories of life with all within earshot. He had a special connection with animals and never met a stranger – Dad was always willing to help anyone in need and was a great friend to countless people he encountered in his long and full life.
We are certain a joyous reunion is taking place above, as Dad is reunited and preceded in death by both his parents, his wife Effie and many friends and animals.
Pete is survived by his children: Tony, Trina, David, Randy, Mike, Johnny, Shannon, Ladonna and Billey Joe. He is also survived by his 33 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:00 am at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City, Utah, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.southernutahmortuary.com.
