Grayson Carl, 86, of Onaga, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at the Country View Estates Care Home in Seneca.
He was born August 5, 1914, seven miles south of Onaga, the son of Colonel and Bertha Day Carl. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1932.
Mr. Carl owned and operated Carl's Steak House in Onaga for about twenty-five years and later worked for the City of Onaga for ten years.
He married Marjorie Bell Fuller August 5, 1940, at Bertrand, Nebraska. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Robert L. Carl, of Lecompton; one brother, Ralph Carl, of Oceanside, California; two sisters, Mary Rowles of Chapmanville, West Virginia and Donna Lee Valburg, of Onaga; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Carl was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lee Carl, who died in 1995; two brothers, Nathan Carl and Ernest Carl, and one sister, Frances Snyder.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Tessendorf-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. Burial was in the Onaga Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
