Kenneth W Anderson of Chisago City, formerly of Lindstrom, died Wednesday July 21, 1999 at his home at the age of 79.
Ken was born Oct 31, 1919 to Eric and Laura (Chellberg) Anderson in the house that is located where the present day Lindstrom Post Office is. The house was referred to as "Noah's Ark" He was baptized and confirmed at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City.
During his youth he worked around Lindstrom in filing stations, Stanley Johnson Hardware, John Ostrom's Grocery and Howard Nelson's Cold Storage. Ken graduated from Chi –Hi in 1937. After a hitch at the CCC Camp near Two Harbors he went to the Lee Barber School in St Paul. He started to barber in Lindstrom in 1939. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942, serving in Englund, Italy and North Africa. He was honorably discharged in 1945. On July 20, 1947, he married Marjorie Berglund. To this union two daughters were born.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald and granddaughter Amy Lones.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, daughters Pam and husband Jerry Muehring of Crete, Ill, Pat and husband Bill Lones of Osceola, Wisc, grandchildren Meagan and Mike Muehring, Chris Lones, brother Lloyd"Poik" (Lois) Anderson of Lindstrom, sisters Elaine (Alfred) Rydeen of North Branch, Lorna Lundell of St Paul, Mavis Gilfillen of St Paul and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church with Rev Larry Lystig and Rev Russell Peterson officiating. Music was provided by Joy Sietsema and Dan ford. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery in Center City.
