Charley Boyd Boysal

Charley Boyd Boysal, youngest son of John and Mary Boysal was born on Oct. 6, 1885 in Allerton, Iowa and passed away at his home in Allerton on Dec. 17, 1952 at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 11 days.

Charley attended the Allerton public school and spent the greater part of his life in Allerton and Wayne county. He was converted and baptized in the Christian church at Seymour, Iowa in 1910.

On Oct. 24, 1906, Charley was united in marriage to Hattie Herman of Unionville, Iowa. To this union two children were born; Herman Fay, who preceded him in death in the year 1946 and John Orville of Kansas City, Mo.

Charley was interested in community affairs and served on the Allerton town council for two years. During the years of 1936 to 1942 he was manager of the Allerton hotel.

Charley had served 46 years of faithful service with the Rock Island railroad. He took his retirement from the railroad in December 1951. For the past year he had enjoyed his retirement and was happy to spend all his time in his home and visiting with his many friends.

Charley was a kind husband and loving father. He was happiest when his family and grandchildren were gathered in his home. He is survived by his widow, one son, John and three grandchildren, Joan Larson, Joyce Boysal and Tommy Gillett. Also two brothers, Carl Boysal of Republic Mo. and Walter Boysal of Denver, Colo.

Funeral services were held at the Randolph funeral home in Allerton Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Rogers officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs. James Kelley and Mrs. Pearl Bracewell with Mrs. D. M. Crawford, pianist. Pallbearers were: Marion Pray, Chet Duskin, Merl Henderson, Lester Browning, Burl Cook and William Kendall. Flower attendants were: Mrs. Marion Pray and Mrs. Chet Duskin. Burial was in Allerton cemetery.
