Marilyn Hotchkiss Lovelace of Courtland, born September 22, 1920, died July 28, 2010.

Mrs. Lovelace was born in Guntersville to Lemuel Walker and Mary Beard Walker. After her father's death and her mother's remarriage, she was adopted by William Edgar Hotchkiss, who raised her as his own. She was beloved by all who knew her and was a devoted mother and military wife who gracefully rose to any challenge. Her relationship with the Lord guided her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. (Ret.) David Richard Maxwell Lovelace; and brother, William B. Hotchkiss.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Maxwell Lovelace (Mary) of McAllen, Texas, and David William Lovelace (Emma) of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Pamela Lovelace of El Paso, Texas, Chris Lovelace (Rachael) of Austin, Texas, and William Cary Lovelace of McAllen, Texas; brother, Cary Hotchkiss (Charlotte) of Courtland; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Courtland Presbyterian Church. Service will follow at 4 p.m. with Dr. Bill Cooper officiating and Spry-Williams Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Courtland Presbyterian Church.
