He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School, receiving his diploma as he served in Germany with the US Army Infantry from 1944 to 1946. Milton married Hazel "Aloydis" Johnson on March 22, 1952 in Blair,WI.
He was an automotive machinist, working at Clemons Auto Supply, GTC, and retiring from Motorworks in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Aloydis; a son, Michael (Bobbie) of Mondovi; two daughters, Susanne (Marty) Blomberg of Wisconsin Rapids and Mary Mayer of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, Toby Blomberg, Andy, Brian, Laurie and Erin Johnson, Mandy and Zachy Mayer, and Jeremiah Mayer-Johnson; two sisters, Elverna Massey, and Geneva Klemmer both of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Johnson of Eau Claire, and Ellien Johnson of Coon Rapids,MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Spencer, Myron and Emil; and a sister Olive.
Milton was an avid Packer fan, and he enjoyed his building projects in his woodworking shop and refinishing antique furniture.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Harold Oelschlager officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services, Friday at the church.
