WHITE, John G. 77, passed away after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born Jan. 26, 1933, in Keene, N.H. Passed away on July 22, 2010, in Quartz Hill, Calif. Raised in New England, he relocated to California in 1967, settling in the AV in 1976. A 40 year Carpenter's Union member, he was a master carpenter, his woodworking skills were unsurpassed. As a project superintendent part of his legacy includes; West Hills Hospital, Ventura County Government Center, Sylmar Juvenile Detention Center,
Wheeler Ridge Pumping Station, Everest & Jennings Wheelchair Factory (Camarillo), Mayflower Gardens (Quartz Hill), Beverly Hills Financial Center and others. He was a creative, inventive, and artistic gentleman who loved to tinker in his workshop, sharing his knowledge and ideas with many generations. His family and friends were of the highest importance in his life, his hospitality and generosity were abundant. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janet E. White, sister, Carol Plesmid, of Florida, three children; Cherie L. Blankenship (Larry) of New Mexico, Tim T. White (Michelle) of Tehachapi, and Shelley L. Urmanski (Craig) of Lancaster, nine grandchildren; Michelle Stemm (Chris) of Ohio, Cindy Blankenship, John Blankenship, both of New Mexico; Tyler White, Steven Urmanski, Jordan White, Rachel White, Christian Urmanski and Lauren Urmanski, all of California, and four great-grandchildren; Caleb and Cayden Weaver, Violet Stemm of Ohio and Ash Blankenship of New Mexico. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2010, at Good Shepherd Cemetery 70th St. W. Lancaster.
