MATTOON -- M. LaDon Louthan, 83, of Mattoon, Illinois, formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 5:05 a. m., Sunday, November 5, 2006, in the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home of Mattoon, Illinois. LaDon was born September 22, 1923, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Roy and Myrtle (Gaddy) Long. LaDon was a foster daughter of Dewey and Opal South. She married Howard S. Louthan October 10, 1941, in St. Charles, Missouri, and Mr. Louthan passed away August 9, 1979. Mrs. Louthan was a housewife, a homemaker, a retired school bus driver for the Neoga School District and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga, Illinois. Mrs. Louthan leaves three sons, Chuck Louthan and wife Patty of Springfield, Illinois, Jim Louthan and wife Janice of Charleston, Illinois, and Tom Louthan of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Evelyn Augenstein and husband Kenton of Strasburg, Illinois, and Betty Myers and husband Bill of Raleigh, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Louthan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five sisters. Memorials may be made to Harmony Center of the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home of Mattoon, Illinois or to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 7, 2006, in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, with the Rev. Connie Jenkins of Neoga, officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, November 6, 2006, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, Illinois.
