Lois "Boots" Marie Earp, Jay resident, age 80 years, died early Sunday morning at her home with her family by her side.
She was born February 19, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her parents, Hosey "Jack" Elmer and Catherine M. (Groden) Lambright.

Lois attended Jenks Schools as a child.
Lois married Mitchell "Bud" A. Earp on October 14, 1945 in Columbus, Kansas. They had seven children, two sons and five daughters, and celebrated almost 40 years of marriage until Bud's death on June 25, 1995. Lois worked at Head Start for a few years starting in 1965 then for the Jay Public School System for 20 years as Food Service Manager until her retirement. Lois married Walter Barnes on March 23, 2001 in Miami, Oklahoma and they resided in Jay.
Lois enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, canning, and many other hobbies. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ; a senior citizen's volunteer, and was one of the ladies that baked the cobblers during the Huckleberry Festival each year.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bud Earp; 2 sisters, Hazel Spellins and Joyce Watts; grandson, James Mitchell Witt; and son-in-law, Jerry Lee Witt.

She leaves many loving memories with her family and husband, Walter Barnes; sons, Darrell Earp and wife Dawn, Mitchell Earp; daughters, Janet Dunham and husband David, Elaine Witt, Paula Barnes and husband Rocky, Patti Stump, and Rebecca Mease; Grandchildren, Kim, Vann, Tammy, Laci, Shannon, Shane, Marcy, Kyle, Madison, Robby, Josh, Haley, Sidney, Brittney; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother Jackie Lambright; sister, Pauline Spellins; Stepchildren, Ronnie Barnes, Steve Barnes, Mary Ellen Barnes and Betty Jo Rutherford; 12 step-grandchildren; as well as many other loving relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services were held 2:00 PM Wednesday July 14, 2010 at the Southside Church of Christ in Jay with Steve Stenzel officiating. Interment was at Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay.
