A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Meona Bergeron Bruce, 73, a native of Houma and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, July 15.
Visitation will be until 11 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to Funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Burial will be in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
She was the mother of Bobby Sr., Lester Jr., Daniel Sr., Douglas, Wayne and Bryan Bruce, Geraldine "Tenny" Esponge, Janice Savoie, Peggy Borne, Carolyn Bourgeois and Sheena Delatte; sister of Sheldon, Alvin and Allen Bergeron, Anna Falgout, Dorothy Cheramie, Mary Ruth Schexnayder and Helen Foret. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Bruce Sr.; parents, Eliska Foret and Jean Baptiste Bergeron; two sons, Carl and Larry Bruce; two sisters, Grace Shaffer and Mary Ann Clark; and two grandchildren.
