Abe Bodkin, who was so seriously injured in the runaway last week, is improving and will likely recover.
Atlanta Argus, Dec 26, 1890
Abe Bodkin dead- At our last writing, (Thursday of last week), Mr Abe Bodkin, was thought to be in a fair way to recover from the severe injuries sustained in the runaway accident. On Friday however, symptoms of lock jaw make their appearance and he rapidly grew worse. For nearly a week he was unable to take any nourishment into his stomach, being unable to swallow anything. Tuesday evening he died. His case is a sad one. He was an industrious young man and had been at work for J H Judy for some time on his farm east of town. He leaves a wife with child and three small children.
