James Harrison Ray was the eldest child of ten children born to, Abner Ray, and his wife, Mary Ann [KEITH] Ray. He was born in Illinois, 27 May 1837. In Morgan County, Illinois, 26 June 1860, he married, Julia Cassell. She was a daughter of, Benjamin Cassell, and his wife, Anne Miriah [HILTON] Cassell. Together, James Harrison Ray, and his wife, Julia [CASSELL] Ray shared seven known children. Julia [CASSELL] Ray died in Humboldt, Richardson, NE., in 1877. In Richardson County, Nebraska, 06 January 1889, James Harrison Ray married, Eliza J. Pope. I suspect she was the widow of, Carey Pope, but I cannot prove this as yet. James Harrison Ray, and his wife, Eliza J. [POPE] Ray, shared no children that I am aware of. James Harrison Ray died in Humboldt, Richardson, NE., 08 February 1904.
