He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Plevna, to Everett Lee and Rosa Pauline Nusser Andsager. He graduated from Plevna High School in 1943.
He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946, as an aviation machinist.
Bill was a district and store manager for Singer Sewing Company, and later a Realtor for Century 21. After his retirement, Forrest was self-employed. He was an active member of saddle clubs in Hutchinson and Dodge City and the Kansas Western Horseman's Association.
On Oct. 6, 1948, he married Darlene Grace Hill in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Jon Andsager and his wife Menchie Morales, Frisco, Texas; daughter, Julie Andsager and her husband Thanos Papanicolaou, Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers, Richard Andsager and his wife Mary Ruth, Hutchinson, and Marvin Andsager and his wife Alma, Shawnee, Okla.; a sister, Phyllis Kerwood, Wichita; numerous nephews and nieces; and his faithful companion, his dog, Zoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Willis Andsager.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, in Pleasant View Cemetery with Janet Postier officiating. Pleasant View Cemetery is on Lerado Road (West of 4th Avenue, 19.5 miles from Main Street, North on Lerado Road one mile to the corner of 17th and Lerado). Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
