JIMMY ELIZABETH DOWELL, 84, of Houston, TX, passed away on 14 June 2009, at Clarewood House in Houston. Jimmy was born January 21, 1925 in North Zulch, Texas and was proud of her heritage as a lifelong Texan. She was a 1942 graduate of Austin High School and member and Sunday School teacher at Park Place Baptist Church for 60 years. She served in the Houston banking industry for over 40 years, traveled the world, volunteered in numerous service organizations. She is survived by her nieces; Norma Ogletree, Katherine Kieselhorst, and Susan Jackson and her nephews; Doug Jackson, Greg Jackson, and Thomas Dowell, and many great-nieces and nephews. Another niece, Marie Currie Davis Wilmeth preceded her in death. She will be remembered for mentoring, teaching and enriching the lives of numerous family members, always providing them with new and exciting experiences. Her research into genealogy was extensive, and entitled her to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the War of 1812, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17th at 2 pm at the Chapel at Clarewood House, 7400 Clarewood Drive, Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
