JOHNSON, Ernest Walter
Age 82, was born January 10, 1928, in Bessemer, Michigan. He passed away July 13, 2010, in Lancaster, California. Ernest served in the Army during the Korean War and had a long career of 40 years in Aerospace. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Ernest loved and respected the Fire Department and was a collector of many firefighting apparatuses. Ernest was a wonderful loving man and a father figure for all who knew him. He is survived by three daughters and three sons, Deaborah Schulze of Lancaster, James Johnson and his wife Kelly of Susanville, Michele May and her husband John of Seattle, Wash., Jere Johnson and his wife Vicky of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robyn Mize and her husband Steve of Santa Clarita, Robert Johnson and his wife Cindy of Antioch, two brothers, one sister, ten grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, son Richard, and brother Lloyd Johnson. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2010, with a vigil prayer service starting at 7 p.m., at Halley-Olsen-Murphy, Chapel, Lancaster. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment is to following at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
