Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday at Evans Chapel for Joe C. Roper 76, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at Del Puerto Hospital following a lengthy illness. Interment will be at Del Puerto Cemetery. He was a native of Texas and had lived in this area for the past 20 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Agnes Roper; three daughters, Mrs. Beula Cox of Patterson, Mrs. Clifford McDonald of Ceres and Mrs. Laverne Hatley of Bowie, Tex.; four sons, Edd Roper and Joe Bird Roper of Bowie, Tex.; William Roper of Patterson and Leland Roper of Crows Landing: three sisters, Mrs. Zephie Cast of Marlow, Okla., Mrs. Ida Graham of Duncan, Okla., and Mrs. Minnie Horvik of Lafayette, Tex.; one brother, Robert Roper of Marietta, Okla,; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
