SUCCUMBS FOLLOWING BURSTING OF ARTERY NEAR HEART
Funeral Services for Prominent Carthage Business Man Will Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon
S. Walker Boon, proprietor of the Acme Laundry, died early this morning while visiting friends in Joplin. Death was caused by the bursting of an artery near the heart.
Mr. Boon was taken ill about 10 o'clock. A physician was called and a telephone message sent to his sister, Mrs. James R. Simpson, who, with her husband went to his bedside. He died at 1 o'clock.
Mr. Boon suffered a similar attack at his home in this city some months ago. He had seemingly recovered from this attack.
Samuel Walker Boon was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but had lived in Carthage since boyhood. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Boon, have been dead several years. Mr. Boon was 53 years old.
Two sisters, Mrs. Simpson, and Miss Sally Knox Boon, who arrived this afternoon from Kansas City, survive. A brother, W. C. Boon, also died suddenly here.
The funeral will be conducted from Grace Episcopal church at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. Frederick A. Foster, rector of the church, will have charge. The B. P. O. Elks will have charge at the grave in Park Cemetery.
