The son of Obediah Garrett and Mary Murry,George took early "retirement" from the Civil War and later came down to Baker County, Florida with his brother William. There he was a co-founder of the Macedonia Independent Methodist Church. A horse trader, he was married three times: #1. Louvilla Mizell #2. Elizabeth Simmons #3. Esther Deliah Ann Butler.
