AYAD, Malak
Malak was born in 1921, in Cairo, Egypt and passed away peacefully on July 3, 2010 at 88. She joins her beloved husband Ayad Riad who preceded her in death 18 years ago. Prior to immigrating to the United States with her family in 1969, she was a principal of Port Said Elementary School in Egypt. She changed careers and worked for Long Beach Memorial Hospital, California, from 1974 until 1985, when she retired. Malak is survived by her daughter Amira Shipman and son Tony Ayad; five grandchildren Melanie Tuscani, Lonnie Shipman, Ashley, Andrea and Allison Ayad; and four great-grandchildren: Marisa and Brooke Tuscani, Cade and Owen Shipman.

The family would like to extend an enormous amount of gratitude to the many nurses and caregivers from Mayflower Gardens Convalescent Home who provided her invaluable care and endless laughs and love. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale. Internment will follow immediately at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Palmdale.
