THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Jun. 15, 1997, p. 6A: ‘Vinnie Bowman (Bolton) Smith, 84, of Blossom died Friday, June 13, 1997 at the Paris Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Gordon B. Strom Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Bright-Holland funeral home. Mrs. Smith was born April 27, 1913, to Elmore and Emma Bowman in Lamar County. She married Jeff C. Bolton, was a Baptist and a lifelong resident of Lamar County. Survivors include: a son, Sammy Jeff Bolton and his wife, Reva, of Paris; two daughters, Reva Ruthart and her husband, Ken, of Powderly and Peggy Head and her husband Denny of Blossom; five grandchildren, Dick Ruthart, Don Ruthart, Jeff Bolton, Kay Hayes and Chris Head; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Arch Bowman of Aspermont; two sisters, Dorothy Hutchings and Bobbie Marshall of Paris. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, five brothers and two sisters.
