Funeral rites for Sarah Malinda Goin, former western Oklahoma resident,
who died at the home of her daughter in Portales, New Mexico, were held at
2 p.m. Sunday in the Silent Home church near Roll.
Mrs. Goin was born February 8, 1866 in Bell County, Kentucky. She died
Saturday following a long illness.
In 1885 she was married to G.W. Goin in Kentucky and in 1911 the couple
moved to Roger Mills county, where they have resided most of the time
since.
She was a long-time member of the Prmitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. W.F. Wallace, Tucumcari, New
Mexico, Mrs. T.G. Miller of Portales, New Mexico, Mrs. S.P., Springer,
Crawford and Mrs. H.H. Williams of Raymond, Washington; four sons, E.E.
Goin of Portales, J.W. of Crawford, J.R. of Ayfle, Washington and B.B.
Golin of Portales, New Mexico. Her husband preceded her in death in
January 1947.
The Rev. Don Anderson, pastor of the Cheyenne Baptist Church, officiated.
Burial was in Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma
with Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.
