William Solomon, 81, realty owner, for whom Solomon Street is named, fell from an upstairs window of his home on Mitchell Street opposite the old city hall on May 16th, and received injuries from which he died the same day. He was a man of great shrewdness and fine judgement. In business matters he was close and exacting, but was always true to his obligations. He is buried in Oakland. The old Solomon home was torn down a few years ago to make way for one of the State office buildings opposite the capitol.
