Inman, SC - Mrs. Lula Marie McAbee Brashears, loving mother, grandmother and widow of Ben Harrison Brashears, went home to be with the Lord at Lake Emory Post Acute Care, on Sunday morning, July 8, 2018 . She was a native of Spartanburg County, SC and daughter of the late Roland Dean and Lois "Lou" Brown McAbee. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors included: two sons, Rev. Bennie Brashears and his wife Bonnie and Rev. Douglas Brashears and his wife Ellen; three granddaughters, Dee Patterson and her husband Nick, Krystal Stefanyk and her husband John and Brittany Cartee and her husband Landon; four great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Brown, Brodie Patterson, Kadence and Chandler Cartee, many nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Rev. Ed Bryant and family. She was a long standing member of Evangel Cathedral. Visitation will be held at Petty Funeral Home in Landrum, SC on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Petty Funeral Home, in Landrum, SC on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jan King and the Rev. Jerry Clevenger. She was predeceased by: three sisters, Mrs. Ruth McAbee Bryant, Mrs. Ola Louise McAbee Cantrell, and Mrs. Helen Virginia McAbee Proctor; and three brothers, Ralph Dean McAbee, Thomas Jefferson "J. T." McAbee, and Roland Julian "Bud" McAbee. Interment will be in the Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, beside her beloved husband. Pallbearers will be: Nick Patterson, Landon Cartee, John Stefanyk, Kenny Proctor, Eddie Proctor, and Alvin Gilbert. Honorary Pallbearers: Chandler Cartee and Brodie Patterson. Thanks to the staff at Lake Emory Post Acute Care and a special thanks to Cathy Pilgrim and Beth Palanta whom she loved. Flowers are welcome, but would request donations be made to Parkway Baptist Church, in Campobello, SC or Hope Church in Inman, SC.
