BROYLES, VANCE LESLIE, JR. - 70, passed away on Saturday, June 11 at Baptist Hospital. He was born February 19, 1935 in Elizabeth, NJ and later the family moved to Knoxville. He was a 1953 graduate of Young High School and graduated in 1960 from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in Memphis. He was a faithful and loyal employee of Baptist Hospital Pharmacy for over 42 years. He was a member and deacon of Meridian Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher and department director for many years. Gardening was one of his favorite hobbies. Vance was preceded in death by his parents Vance L. and Gladys H. Broyles Sr. Survivors: loving wife of 41 years: Barbara Self Broyles daughters and sons-in law: Lisa and Rob Blake, Leslie and Andy Rines granddaughter: Rachel Victoria Rines brothers-in-law: David Self, James Self, and N.E. Burleson sister-in-law: Katherine Burleson several cousins. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Meridian Baptist Church, 6513 Chapman Hwy. Knoxville, TN 37920 or Baptist Heart Institute 137 Blount Ave. Knoxville, TN 37920. Funeral service 8 PM Monday in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Rev. Dana Fachman and Rev. Dan Hicks officiating. Family and friends will meet 1 PM Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery for interment. Deacons at Meridian Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
