Funeral services for Ms. Katherine Willene Carter Huddleston Chote, 82, of Cookeville, will be at 12 noon Friday, Dec. 4, in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Bullock and Pastor James Staley officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Methodist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec 3 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home & Friday, Dec 4, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon.

Mrs. Willene Chote died Tuesday, Dec 1, 2015, at the Bethesda Health Care Center.

She was born August 29, 1933 to Willis and Ethel McKinley Carter.

Willene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Mrs. Chote had always worked outside the home. She retired from Fleetguard after 17 years. Mrs. Chote was an avid gardener and cook. She was known for her beautiful garden behind the little green house on Chote St. If she wasn’t inside cooking, she was in her garden lovingly tending to her flowers. Willene was a long time member of Salem United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dale & Shari Huddleston, of Cookeville; daughter-in-law Rusty Ren Huddleston of Syrma; two grandsons, James Huddleston of Cookeville and CJ Huddleston of Ft Hood, Texas; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Isiah Huddleston of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Mary Francis Carter; two sisters, Pauline Johnson of Cookeville and Sue Birdwell of Maryville, TN; a nephew & several nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Huddleston and Herbert Chote, son, Carter Huddleston, four brother, Willis Carter Jr, James Dow Carter, Hubert Carter, Davis Carter, sister, Ann Welch, and a great grandson, Elijah Huddleston.
